The Two Best Ways to Influence Yourself – קואצ’ר באנגלית
I am 100% percent sure that you would love to influence other people in your life however, the most important person that you can ever influence is yourself.
When speaking about self-influence, we are talking about you taking specific actions towards building new habits, and I would like wish that new habits are easy to establish and solidify, but they are not.
Developing a new habit s typically quite hard to do, and will take 90 – 120 days of consistent actions and efforts. So if you are ready to start, let’s get into it.
The first way to influence your-self is to have a good self-dialogue, and great self-talk.
This means that one voice in your head is having empowering conversations with the other voice in your head. Having the right kind of self-talk is going to be crucial to influence yourself.
Some people have very harsh self-talk and very negative internal dialogue. They constantly put down themselves, and say harsh things to themselves. I do not support doing this.
It is okay to be stern in your internal dialogue, but I don’t like the idea of self-criticizing.
Instead, I suggest developing a series of good refocusing messages during your self-talk. I recommend creating internal messages that give you focusing and refocusing powers.
Having an internal dialogue that will keep you on track, and realign you when off track… is the goal you should have. This is why I recommend using affirmations.
What are affirmations?
Affirmations are messages that you give yourself repetitively in order to change the way that you think, and in order to change the way that you perceive yourself.
What is the purpose of affirmations?
Doing self-affirmations will influence your subconscious mind. If you repeat messages in your conscious mind, those messages will become beliefs in your subconscious mind.
Using affirmations, you can begin to influence your own subconscious mind, and therefore change your own belief systems for the better… I hope.
How do I write a self-affirmation?
The key thing in affirmative self-messaging is to create a message that you have already achieved the goal you want. You will tell yourself that you have already accomplished the state of being which you desire.
What is an example of a positive self-affirmative message?
“I am ABC…”
OR
“I have ABC…”
Fill in “ABC” with the goal that you want to achieve. Therefore, if you were trying to lose weight you would say, “I am thin and fit”. If you want to be wealthy, you could write, “I have financial abundance”.
I recommend starting with just a few positive affirmations, and writing them down on a piece of paper. Then read that paper repeatedly, for no less than 2 to 5 minutes per day. Simply repeat the message(s) again, and again, and again.
Final advice about affirmations:
If you are in a private location, read the paper with your positive self-affirmations aloud so the impact on your subconscious mind will be even stronger.
The second way to influence your-self is by taking massive action towards your desires/goals.
I recommend you to do this by using a five-second rule.
Don’t give yourself time to come up with reasons why you shouldn’t do something that you know you should. Instead, count to the number five in your head and then take immediate action.
1-2-3-4-5-go!
You’re going to need to take action upon the things that you want to achieve. Moreover, when you do take massive action it will have tremendous influence on how you think and feel. This is because you will be conquering hesitation, and defeating fear.
Taking control and overcoming the natural tendency to delay/procrastinate will give you better self-esteem and more confidence… so take massive action as often as you can!
Your Personal Challenge:
Use the two self-influence techniques listed above to begin changing the person you are today, into the person that you want to be in the future. They work! Trust me, I know!
