The BEST Things About Living in Israel

Now, before we begin:

  • This list is composed in no specific order.
  • I have been living in Israel for 10+ years (in the Tel Aviv area)
  • I am originally from Los Angeles, California

Let’s get into it!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

ย

1.ย  The Weather / Climate in Israel is Spectacular

First things first, let us start with the basicsโ€ฆ the weather in Israel is phenomenal. ย The weather is beautiful.

In Israel, the weather is so nice that you can wear t-shirt and shorts for most of the year. ย In addition, the weather is so temperate that most of the year you can enjoy traveling outdoors.

This is really, nice, and it is one of my favorite things about living in Israel: The weather.

ย

2.ย  The Ancient City of Jerusalem is Located in the Country of Israel

I must admit that I am not religious at all, but I have read the Torah, and the Tanakh, and the Koran, and the Old Testament, and the New Testament, and many other important, โ€œspiritualโ€ books.

However, I do consider myself a spiritual personโ€ฆ so another great thing about living in Israel to me is the fact that you are never, ever very far from the ancient city of Jerusalem.

In case you did not know, Jerusalem is the focal point of the Muslim, Jewish, and the Christian religion.

Walking through the 2×2 mile ancient city of Jerusalem, there is an incredible energy that you experience.

A tense and contradictory, violent and passionate, invisible energy radiates throughout this ancient city.

Therefore, if you are thinking about coming to Israel for a visit, or you already have it in your itineraryโ€ฆ you must visit Jerusalem in order to experience this unique and powerful place.

3.ย  Israel of Located on the Shores of the Mediterranean Sea

The third thing on my list of my favorite things about living in Israel is the Mediterranean Sea.

With its crystal-clear waters, majestic sunsets, and calming breezesโ€ฆ the Mediterranean Sea is the perfect retreat from the pressures of living in the Middle East.

Swimming in the Mediterranean Sea is much, much nicer than swimming in the Pacific Ocean or the Atlantic Ocean.

In the summertime, the water is warm, refreshing, and relaxing- with minimal waves to disturb you while you are inside.ย

Just one taste of the beaches of Israel in the summer and you will know exactly what I mean.

Let us continue.

4.ย  Israel Gives It Citizens a High Level Freedom of Speech

Another thing that I adore about living in Israel is โ€œFreedom of Speechโ€ โ€“ which is a tremendously relative concept.ย  Meaning, it is based on a regional perspective, from a global standpoint.

Essentially, Israel is a democracy.ย  Compared to the remaining countries in the Middle East region, it is by far, the most liberal.

Israel has the most social flexibility, the most open-minded approach, and the most progressive communities. Period.

I can appreciate this.

Yes, I am from the USA but even still, I can appreciate the high levels of freedom that I experience here in Israel.

5.ย  Israel Has a Socialized / Universal Healthcare System

Another really, really great thing about living in Israel, is the fact that we have a public / universal health care system here.

This means that you do not need to pay for private insurance.ย  Instead, everyone in the country โ€œpitches inโ€ so that everybody in the country is covered by the health care system (to some degree).

Therefore, if you get sick or if you are injured, you can always go to a hospital and receive medical treatment. ย Can you imagine how valuable and important it is?

To ALWAYS be able to go into a hospital and receive treatment in a relatively quick time frame, for a very low or no cost.

That is the benefit of public health care, and it is another thing that I really enjoy about living in Israel.

6.ย  Israel Is a Very, Very Safe Country

Finally yet importantly are the incredible levels of safety that I feel in my heart when I walk around Israel.

As I mentioned, I am from southern California.ย  A place where so many crimes happen, it is incredible.

In Los Angeles (or matter of fact, in the entire United States of America), it is more dangerous place compared to Israel.

Yes, there are wars that happen in Israel quite frequentlyโ€ฆ but you are still much safer in Israel than you are in many cities across the United States โ€“ even during these wars because the causality rate is extremely low.

Israel is an incredibly safe place to live.

In Conclusionโ€ฆ

That was the list of things I think are great about living in Israel. but you can come for a visit and see for yourself!ย  Alternatively, please leave your comments below to share your thoughts and additions of any topics I missed.

ย

Hi, my name is Claude Lee Massey and thanks for reading the article above!ย  I wrote the article because I wanted to help you.ย  You see, Iโ€™ve been living in Tel Aviv for 10+ years and I know it can be a struggle living here as a foreigner.

ย

I remember the day I arrived in Israel I had NO money – NO friends – and NO job.

ย

ย

So, let’s get into a great question that I often ask myself.

“How did I go from having no money, no friends, and no job to having all three.ย

Moreover, “How the heck did I end up becoming a life coach (ืงื•ืืฆโ€™ื™ื ื’ ืœื—ื™ื™ื) and career coach (ืื™ืžื•ืŸ ืื™ืฉื™ ืœืงืจื™ื™ืจื”)…?

ย

Here is the long story short version, of the important part of my story:

ย

So let’s get into it and let me start at the beginning.ย  Once upon a time, about seven years ago (and after 15+ years of soul-searching), I had a powerful self-realization.

ย

That the purpose of my life, was meant to be lived through helping other people get what they want from life… by any means necessary.ย  ย Therefore, with my 15+ years of experience in the field of sales,ย  and customer service I decided to open a sales training company.

ย

ย

At this point, I had a full time job working for a high-tech company so on my day off, I found an accountant.ย  Then I hired him and had him file the proper paperwork to open a sales training company with the government.

ย

ย

I never thought that I would open my own business in Israel… but I did!ย  I decided to name my sales training company Sales Development Israel.ย  Then, I began to use all of my spare time before work and after work creating training materials, and trying to acquire clients.

ย

In addition, I was sending emails and cold calling companies in Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Ramat Gan, Jerusalem, Bat Yam, and Holon.ย  Basically, I was reaching our across the whole country of Israel during my efforts.

ย

I doing everything in my power to generate momentum. in my new businessย  Great news is that I was able to find my first few clients!ย  However, something I immediately noticed was at the conclusion of my sales training workshops, two things would happen consistently happen:ย

ย

Firstly, I would receive feedback that my sales training workshops were providing massive value for the sales team.ย  This meant that the companies were happy with the service I provided, which was nice to know.

ย

Secondly, one or two of the students in the courses would privately approach me.ย  These students would speak with me about theirย struggles not only in sales, but also in their lives.

ย

Then one time, a female student offered to pay me for a one-on-one session outside of the office. ย As a struggling entrepreneur, I accepted.ย ย

ย

She asked me to help her learn how to communicate more effectively, and to help her figure out a better career path.ย  We developed a plan, strategized, and executed.ย

ย

Another student, approached me and offered to pay me for my time to help prepare him for a job interview.ย  We developed a plan, strategized, and executed.ย

ย

Similarly, another student from another workshop, at another company, asked me to help them build their inner-confidence. ย We developed a plan, strategized, and executed.ย  This would happen again, and again…

ย

Each of these wonderful people I began to work one-on-one with, ย had their own unique challenge, and asked me for help. ย Each time we developed a plan, strategized, and executed.ย

ย

They knew that I was not professionally trained, and still they would offer to pay me for my time.ย  These first clients would call me their โ€œLife Coachโ€ or โ€œCareer Counselorโ€œ, and I was able to help them!

ย

At the conclusion of our 3 to 5 one-on-one sessions, they each had taken took massive steps forward towards the results they wanted.ย  Each time we developed a plan, strategized, and executed successfully!ย

Eventually, enough people paid me to sit down with them, andย  then called me their Career Counselor or Life Coachย that I began to call myself a โ€œCareer Counselorโ€ and โ€Life Coachโ€.

In addition, most people set out to become a trained and certified life coach (ืงื•ืืฆ’ืจ , ืื™ืžื•ืŸ ืื™ืฉื™) or career counselor before ever having a client.ย

I never once said to myself that I wanted to be a life coach (ืื™ืžื•ืŸ ืื™ืฉื™ ืœื—ื™ื™ื) or a career counselor even one time.ย  On the contrary, this beautiful, interesting, and fulfilling profession that I currently have came directly to me.

ย

So that is the super-short story of how I began life coaching (ืชืœ ืื‘ื™ื‘ ืงื•ืืฆโ€™ื™ื ื’ ืœื—ื™ื™ื) and career counseling in Tel Aviv Israel, and after all these years Iโ€™m happy to say I have helped hundreds and hundreds of people just like you!
