The 5 BEST Things About Living in Israel
First things first – I moved to Israel 15 years ago and I am not a native Israeli.
Please keep this in mind as you read, understanding you are delving into the mind of a foreigner.
That being said, Israel is a interesting, ancient, and beautiful country located in the Middle East.
As far as a country, it is incredibly small.
A 8-hour drive from top to bottom, and a 2-hour drive from side to side.
In addition to being a super-small and mostly arid and dry desert… Israel also has lush green valleys and beautiful beaches.
When asked, I say that there are great things about living in Israel, including the historical sites, the food, and the weather.
However, let me share a few more – of what I consider to be the 5 BEST things about living in Israel
1. The Food
Another great thing about living in Israel is the food. Israeli cuisine is a blend of many different cultural influences, including Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and European.
As compared to America – where I am originally from – there are much less fast food restaurants.
In addition, there are much, much less chemicals in the food served in restaurants and in grocery stores.
Some of the most popular dishes include falafel, hummus, shakshuka, and schnitzel (breaded, fried, chicken breast).
There are also many fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown in Israel, including pomegranates, dates, and avocados.
2. The History
In addition to the people and the food, there are many other things to love about living in Israel.
For example, the country is home to many historical and religious sites, such as the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
So number tow out of the 5 best things about living in Israel is – There are also many beautiful beaches, parks, and nature reserves where you can go hiking or have a picnic.
3. The People
One of the best things about living in Israel is the people.
Israelis are known for being very friendly and welcoming to visitors.
In addition, they are also very family-oriented and often have big family gatherings for holidays and other special occasions.
Israelis are very proud of their country and its history, and they are always happy to share their culture with others.
Israel is a very diverse country, with people from many different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
This means that there is always something new to learn and discover.
4. The Education
In terms of education, Israel has a very strong system of public schools and universities.
There are also many opportunities for students to pursue advanced degrees and research in fields such as technology, medicine, and engineering.
5. The Safety
Believe it or not, Israel is a very safe country to live in.
Despite its location in a region that is very unstable, Israel has a strong military and police force that works to maintain security and protect its citizens.
You can walk almost everywhere in the country – even late at night – and be + feel safe.
Coming from Los Angeles, Israel is a very safe place.
There are rarely reporting’s of vicious crimes in Israel in comparison to the amount of violence witnessed, and heard about – via news / media – living in the US.
Even with the frequent wars, and the overall instability of the country… Israel is much safer than the USA – in my opinion.
So number 5 of the 5 best things about living in Israel… is the levels of safety here.
Overall, there are a lot of great things about living in Israel.
From interesting people and delicious food, to the rich landscapes and culture… Israel can be a great place to visit.
Ultimately, if you are interested in religion, history, or outdoor activities, there is definitely something for you here… for a visit.
And I still clearly remember arriving in Israel – I had no money, no friends, and no job.
Sounds familiar?
But it all unfolds about 9 years back, following another 14 years of soul-searching when a revelation struck me like lightning.
I realized my life’s purpose.
I realized that it was always right in front of me… that I had been doing this my whole life… and I had always been great at it.
Teaching other people and helping them grow and achieve their goals.
Moreover, alongside this epiphany came another powerful insight – I need to open my own consulting business.
But the road to entrepreneurship wasn’t easy.
I had to legally establish my consulting company while holding a full-time job at a high-tech software firm.
And yes, every spare moment was poured into crafting training materials and acquiring clients.
I honed in on my target audience, reaching out across Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Ramat Gan, Jerusalem, Bat Yam, and Holon. Cold calls, emails, and tireless effort were my daily companions.
And amidst the hustle, I secured my first corporate customers.
What struck me profoundly during my sales training workshops was the aftermath.
Participants loved the workshops for their value, but it was the private conversations that ensued that truly captivated me.
The trainees confided in me, not just about their struggles in sales but about life’s struggles.
One pivotal moment arose when a student sought personalized guidance, offering payment for a one-on-one session outside the workshop setting.
As an entrepreneur navigating uncharted waters, I embraced the opportunity.
Soon, similar requests followed – one seeking job interview preparation, another asking confidence-building sessions, another asking for CV creation tips, another asking for life advice.
Moreover, these encounters, each with its unique challenges, sparked a trend.
Despite lacking formal certification, individuals sought my guidance, willingly compensating for my time and insights.
And the realization hit hard and the truth was undeniable – I was making a difference.
Moreover, over just a few sessions, each person made significant strides toward their goals, due to our collaborative efforts.
As more individuals sought my counsel, calling me their “Career Counselor” or “Life Coach”, a title emerged organically.
Unlike many who aspire to become certified coaches before their first client, I stumbled into this fulfilling profession.
And that, in a nutshell, is the origin of my journey into life coaching and career counseling in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Fast forward 9 years, and I’m proud to declare that I’ve helped hundreds and hundreds of people just like you!
