The Best Job Opportunity in Israel for English Speakers

Israel is one of the major places in the world for start-ups and most of the start-up companies are in the field of Hi-Tech.  Most of these Israeli High-Tech start-ups focus on targeting English-speaking countries to sell their products and services.

This is where you, the English speaking job-hunter come in.  As a career counselor in Tel Aviv, Israel… this is a topic that comes up quite often.  These kinds of companies are constantly hiring, and there are literally hundreds and hundreds of them!  I am certain that the best job opportunity in Israel for English-speakers is in the field of high-tech.

1.  Being a Coder – You had better believe that Israeli software companies are looking for coders, and the language you speak doesn’t matter.  To be a software coder requires a lot of training and skill, but you don’t necessarily need to go to college to be qualified.

Plenty of online courses are available, to gain the skill of being a coder.  This path is a real option for a new Olim or any English speaker, as there is no need to be fluent in Hebrew but rather to gain fluency in computer languages.

2.  Being in Quality Assurance – Checking and making sure that software that the coders are creating remains functional.  Part of this job will require you to have an eye for detail and an understanding of “user experience” in relation to the software being used by the consumers / customers.

Your job would be to find non-functional errors in a software platform, and then to report those flaws.  To find a job in the Quality and Assurance department in hi-tech, doesn’t require Hebrew at a high level and if this occupation sounds appealing to you, go for it.

3.  Being in Marketing – Because the Start-Ups in Israel are dealing with international English speaking countries, they are looking for English speaking marketers.  Meaning copywriters, and content creators.

Great news for you because if you are reading this…  English is probably your native tongue.  Lastly, don’t hesitate to use this natural skill you have job-hunter

4.  Being in Sales – If you are a master of persuasion, and are well spoken.  You might be the perfect fit for an English-speaking sales role in one of the high-tech companies in Israel.  These jobs in sales are found under the title of SDR (sales development representative) and BDR (business development representative).

As a beginner salesperson in high-tech, your challenge is the task of learning a technical product.  I recommend going onto LinkedIn.  You will find TONS of jobs looking for a person with your skills and language.

5.  Being in Customer Service – A low pressure, customer-facing job might be what you are looking for… and if so, you should look into customer service / customer success jobs.  This job will entail you providing support for the existing clients of the high-tech company.  Moreover, you would be responsible for maintaining a healthy line of communication, to ensure customer satisfaction.  These jobs are plentiful.

However, there is a fierce competition for these open customer service / customer success positions.  Why?  Because to be in customer service is the most popular job type among English-speaking immigrants to Israel.  So make sure your CV looks great!

You see, I still remember the day I arrived in Israel… I had NO JOB, NO FRIENDS, and NO MONEY.

And it took me several years of living in Israel before I found a decent-paying job at a tech company.

I was working for this company, and was promoted to a leadership position when I had a powerful self-realization:

The purpose of my life, is helping other people get what they want from life.

I looked back into my past and understood that I was always asked to be a leader + trainer + teacher… and I absolutely loved doing it!

Therefore, with my 15+ years of experience in the field of sales and customer service I decided to open a sales training company.

I never thought that I would open my own business in Israel… but I did!

I decided to name my sales training company Sales Development Israel.

Then, I began to use all of my spare time before work and after work creating training materials, and trying to acquire clients.

In addition, I was sending emails and cold calling companies in Tel Aviv, HerzliyaRamat GanJerusalem, Bat Yam, and Holon.

Basically, I was reaching out across the whole country of Israel in my efforts.

Great news – I was able to find my first few clients

Something I immediately noticed was at the conclusion of my sales training workshops, two things would happen consistently happen:

Firstly, I would receive feedback that my sales training workshops were providing massive value for the sales team.

Secondly, one or two of the students in the courses would privately approach me.

These students would speak with me about their struggles not only in sales, but also in their lives.

Then one time, a female student offered to pay me for a one-on-one session outside of the office.

She asked me to help her learn how to communicate more effectively, and to help her figure out a better career path.

Another student, approached me and offered to pay me for my time to help prepare him for a job interview.

Similarly, another student from another workshop, at another company, asked me to help them build their self-confidence.

And this would happen again and again and again…

Each of these wonderful people I began to work one-on-one with,  had their own unique challenge, and asked me for help.

Each time we developed a plan, strategized, and executed.

These first clients would call me their “Life Coach” or “Career Counselor“, and I am proud to say that I was able to help them.

At the conclusion of our one-on-one sessions, they each had taken took massive steps forward towards the results they wanted!

Eventually, enough people called me their Career Counselor or Life Coach that I began to call myself a “Career Counselor” and ”Life Coach”.

Most people set out to become a trained and certified life coach (קואצ’ר , אימון אישי) or career counselor before ever having a client… that is not my story.

I never once said to myself that I wanted to be a life coach (אימון אישי לחיים) or a career counselor.

This interesting and fulfilling profession came to me… literally.

So that is the short story of how I began life coaching (תל אביב קואצ’ינג לחיים) and career counseling in Tel Aviv Israel.

And after all these years, I’m happy to say I have helped hundreds and hundreds of people from around the world achieve their goals!
